AM I DIFFERENT?

I always wonder whether I am NOT normal.

Sometimes, I feel so cut-off from other people, that it makes me think whether I am human at all.

I agree, basically we all belong to the same species but there is something unique in each one of us that sets us apart.

Still, I am way different.

I don’t think, what others think.

For them, I am a MYSTERY.

I am Stubborn. I have my own way of doing things. I don’t listen to everybody.

But then, who the hell is perfect in this world???

Is it my fault that my views differ from all?

Is it my fault that I value different things than others?

Is it my fault that my principles compel me to take a different path?

I listen to only one person in this world.

Only one person takes me as I am.

Only one person who makes me believe in myself.

Only one person assures me that I am not a freak.

My culture beckons me to behave in one manner.

My mind wavers between uncertainty.

My soul is pure but gets contaminated with baseless thoughts.

My heart is true yet confused.

AM I DIFFERENT?

Yes, I am.

But, not in the way you think.

I am different even basically.

I am an ENIGMA.

I will listen only to what I feel is right.

I will obey that which appeals to my inner self.

I will keep quiet and let others make assumptions.

And, in the end, I will follow what I have faith in…..

IDENTITY

I am a traveler-

A focused one.

Traveling through long roads,

to reach an unknown destination.

I am a dream-

A wonderful one.

That transports you,

to the world of happiness

I am a shadow-

An invisible one.

Not to guide you,

but be by your side always.

I am a mystery-

An interesting one.

That makes you,

ponder about Life for hours.

OR Lets say…..

I am just an Illusion!

You try to get close to me

and you’ll know,

I was never there.

It’s all in your mind.

Perhaps, I am just your IMAGINATION!

FAKE (A personal view)

(My view-point on the poem I have written.)

Many have come to me personally and said that “FAKE” resembles them very much. What happened in their lives and what is still happening. It’s a sad thing but true that we have become slaves of our fate and have forgotten that we still can hold the reins of our life and guide it to a more self-satisfying cause.

When our relationships are nothing but a formality for us, we have to stop and think, where exactly the humanity in us, has gone? How much ever the world progresses…. we cannot become machines and let our sentiments down.

All of you, who think, that life is really not what it used to be, that you are living for the sake of it, that people around are more of your enemies than friends, that true emotions don’t react with the “human” in you and that you have FORGOTTEN life…….Please don’t think so…

It’s not that you have forgotten life……You are just afraid to try it out….

Try once….there is at least ONE person in the entire world who appreciates your efforts….

For HIM, for HER…….Let this be the greatest battle you have undertaken against your own self….

WHO AM I?

For many people, the identity of others, is a big question. If you don’t have a proper identity, no one will give you a second look. Your personality, your money, your friend-circle and your family are your measuring factors. Beyond them, you are considered nothing.

How many people look beyond this veil? Or are really anything beyond this veil?

Do we really have a separate image of ourselves? Or are we just a mere puppet controlled by our surroundings and destiny?

Many adjectives describe us. Our nature, our belongingness to the society, our prestige…

Suprisingly, that’s the only point with which we are judged.

The spiritual tinge in our soul is hidden deep within the layers of meaningless nonsense that we proudly exhibit in front of the world. Our capabilities, our talent, is nothing but degrees that we flaunt to cover our true nature.

If LIFE is so messed up and identities so vague and unreal, then, WHO AM I?

Who exactly, indeed! Perhaps this question does not have an answer……

It’s just a never-ending QUEST…………..

LOSS

The worst loss you face

Is that of a relationship

It’s neither love, nor respect

or some great friendship

It pains more when you lose

the relationship with your soul

It hurts more when you realize

You are playing no role

You fail to be in touch

of your own emotions

Your ideas get faulty

Embedded in wrong notions

Solutions are few

And disasters are plenty

Infinite masks

But no real identity

You live with guilt

Of mistakes not done

You hate your life

And from joys you run

Sometimes its better

To give yourself forgiveness

Sometimes its better

To get carried away with madness

Whatever you do

No punishment is so great

That it will hurt you throughout life

And make you wait

Next day would be better

And filled with hope

With promising future

And strength to cope

Its up to you

What have you retained

At the end of the day

What lessons you gained

There are many things in life

At one time you lose

But just like your happiness

Your sorrow also do you choose!!!!

A STORY

One fine day, LIFE went to DEATH and said, “I don’t understand, why the hell are you here! You consider yourself some bigshot and act as if you are great. Well, let me tell you, it’s me who is important. Everyone is afraid of you. You never give anyone a chance to live. Sometimes you snatch people when they are very young. You grab their opportunities. You take them away from their loved ones. You make them cry. You give them nothing but sorrow. You are so selfish. So cruel. So insensitive….”

Death smiled and kept quiet. This enraged Life even more and it continued, ” Now, why are you smiling? Look at me. How beautiful I am. I leave smile on everyone’s faces. I teach them to love and to care. They love me back. I am their support. I am the best. You should respect me!!!”

Death shrugged. It knew there was no point in arguing with Life. It knew that Life was being vain. But, Life’s overconfidence had to be kept in check. So, it replied seriously, “Perhaps, you are right. But, that is your point of view. I may be of no importance alone but neither are you. Together we complete this circle of LIFE and DEATH. If there is no Death, there wouldn’t be any Life either. Who would value you, if  I were not there? If there was no fear of dying, then how would have people appreciated living? It’s true, sometimes I take them young and separate them from their loved ones. But, you are no saint either. Many a times, in terminal illness or accident cases, people suffer a lot while living. That time, it is I, who free them from this suffering. I ease their pain and take them to a different dimension. I teach them to make the most of their time. To appreciate the worth of things around them. You tell me, am I unimportant now???”

Life put down it’s head in shame and apologized. Death smiled again and said quietly, “Don’t be sad. It’s not your fault. It’s just that you had got a little over-confident. But, honestly, I don’t think any of us is as important as the human SOUL. You and me are only talking about the physical being. But humans are much beyond that. Their real identity is not their body but their soul. The Soul is immortal. It is ancient. It just goes on moving from dimension to dimension. It endures immense pain but has discovered the secret for eternal happiness. Not me nor you can ever achieve the simplicity and humility of the Soul. It truely supports all human beings and never leaves their side. It gives them Hope….it gives them Faith. In comparison to it, we are nothing. Just two small stages in the long journey of spiritual attainment. Once, human beings get past by us, our value gets automatically reduced. Soul is invaluable. It is the Soul who will fuel their journey. It is the Soul who will help them achieve Salvation. It is Soul who will ultimately lead them to the realm of the Almighty. You know what, me and you, we are just mortals…………..”

Together, Life and Death decided that day, never to get proud of their achievements. Just serve their purpose and learn from the Soul, what it means to be powerful yet humble!!!

A CLOSE CALL

World has indeed come closer…lot closer. Whenever we want to write to someone, we can send an email (which is many a times faster than a letter)…. whenever we want to talk to someone, we can phone (and be glad to hear that person’s voice).

It’s only when you want to MEET someone then we realize the distance….

Distances only matter on paper, they establish themselves as the land gets divided, oceans culminate into barriers….

There is just one great sky stretched across that we all see, one sun, one moon. The same clouds and the same stars.

Where is the question of being far and near?

Far and near are the concepts of our own mind, creations of our own imagination.

So strange are these concepts that, many a times, people staying in our own homes appear distant while people living thousands of miles away from us are closer to our hearts than our own selves.

BUT, our relationships, this nature, everything is universal…..

Someday even these “land distances” will vanish AND maybe at that point humanity will begin it’s spiritual venture…..
